Keeping it Current

Hi, everyone! It was so fun to see all of you at the family reunion last weekend! Thanks to all those who were able to be there and make it such a good time! I don't know if it's like this for the rest of you, but I've had a few occasions now where I've started to realize that it doesn't seem to matter as much about where we are, but who we're with that makes a place feel like home. Thanks for being the kind of family to make anywhere feel like home. :)

I'll try to get some reunion pictures up here soon, but this time I thought it would be nice to share family updates, too. I'd like to do that periodically so if any of you have an update that you would like to share, please feel free to text or email me about it and I'd be happy to add it to the blog for all of us to see.

Here are a few of the most recent things going on in our family:

Get ready for a wedding thanks to Maddie and her new fiance, Justin Gibson!!
They are getting sealed in Boise on September 6th! Congratulations, you guys!

From weddings we move on to new babies!
Heather's alpaca had a new baby in June and her name is Nutmeg!

And in case anyone ever wondered, yes, alpacas are kissable (if you can get close enough)!

After alpacas we get a Baby Bird! Kelani and Cody are having a baby in January and will find out the gender in a few more weeks!

And in September we also get a new baby from Mo and Terrell!! They're having their second little boy and we're so excited to meet him!

This fall, Heather will be starting up in the Rad Tech program through CSI for the next 2 years!! She's worked long and hard to get here and has done a great job!

Also this fall, Ben and Kim will have moved from Alaska back to Arizona and Ben will be in a PhD program for Applied Linguistics as well as teaching part time in the English department!

And Kim will be taking care of their little ladies while also creating all kinds of tasty recipes and sewing anything from quilt tops to shirts and pants!

If you get the chance then swing by the Herrett Center at CSI to see some fantastic artwork on display by Uncle Keith!! You can look all day and still probably not find all the little hidden objects in his artwork. Such a cool display!

(These are just a couple samples of what you'll find hanging on the walls in the art center.)

Another artist in the family is Lily, who has recently started making her own cute, little pins and is selling them on Etsy! She'll be adding more items to her site soon so stay posted!
If you want to check them out on Etsy then just go to Etsy's home page and type LilyIllustratesShop or click on this link:

And don't forget about this guy! McKinley is doing a summer job insulating houses in Missouri. He's been thinking about Uncle Brian thanks to all the local wildlife he's seen so far, and he's been able to go to a baseball game, celebrate the 4th of July, and just have a good time covering some new ground for a couple of months.
