Johnson Hill

Ok, I haven't forgotten about this - it's just been a little busy...so here we go!

One of the things we've done a few times as a family is take a sledding trip to Johnson Hill. Grandma Farns would make a big drink cooler full of hot jello water and we would have donuts to snack on when we got back to the cars after sledding.
In December 2001 as we were getting gear rounded up at the Farm and getting ready to head out for a sledding adventure, Ron and a couple of his kids had walked over to Grandma Dutch's house in search of something.
Keith and Ian were there shoveling the snowy driveway and got quite the show as Ron was leaving the house.
Ron and Jana's family had brought their dog, Koko, to the Farm with them but unfortunately she didn't get along so well with Keith and Shelle's dog, Charlie.
Koko decided to come check out what everyone was doing but Charlie was also doing the same thing and the next thing they knew, there was a dog fight going on in the driveway.
Ron scampered across the newly shoveled driveway and attempted to break up the dog fight by swinging his leg at the dogs to kick them apart.
No one knows if it really worked, but they did watch as Ron's standing leg swept out from under him due to his other leg's forceful swing. In a matter of seconds Ron was sprawled out on his back on the slippery driveway with Keith and Ian as his witnesses.
If anything like that is going to happen, one of the best witnesses to have is Keith. A few hours later he brought these around for everyone's education...

Needless to say, the sledding trip still happened and everyone had a good time.
We learned that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree though.
At one point during the day, Grandpa Farns was tubing down the hill and his tube got a little off the beaten path and he ended up taking a pretty good jump off of a snowy rock ledge and also landing fairly painfully looking.
Little Hardy had been sitting with Aunt Lisa at the base of the hill and saw the whole thing. Lisa was already laughing but before he felt like he could, Hardy cautiously asked her, "Is it ok to laugh?"
Everyone was fine and had a great time!
